January 9, 2012 and yet another trip to the Civic, had to go for an ultrasound on my stomach to maybe figure out why it is always bloated. I was sitting in the waiting room with Linda and had some pain in my leg, i showed it to her and she noticed it was swollen and told me to inform the ultrasound technician. I told the technician (Helen Weick) about it and she did an ultrasound on my leg, never would I had thought she would find a blood clot. She gave us documentation about the clot and sent me down to emergency. I waited there for awhile until they did a CT Scan, where they found a large blood clot on my lung. I was sent by ambulance to the General campus where i spent the night. I am now on blood thinners everyday to try and dissolve the blood clot. I think that if the ultrasound technician would not have went beyond the call of duty and listened to my complaint i might not be here today. So thank you Helen for your kindness and caring.
Have to go see the oncologist on the 25th to see if i can go back on the chemo or not, because i don't think i can with the blood thinners. Will post once I know more.
Also want to give a shout-out to my wonderful local pharmacists, who have been nothing but amazing through everything, since the start. Thank you Allison, Ned and Dona at Shoppers Drug Mart!
